Social Welfare and Development Secretary Dinky Soliman on Saturday reported that the investigation conducted by the Department of Social Welfare and Development disproved

the report that the unkempt relief hub was being maintained by DSWD in Tacloban City. Soliman had asked the network’s management to correct the report aired on March 26 but the network issued a statement standing by its story and even aired the same story again

TV5 has said that the warehouse it has been featuring is located in Barangay Caibaan in Tacloban City. Soliman said she sent a DSWD team to location and found a warehouse that is being

occupied by the Unicef and the WFP. In fact, WFP confirmed to the DSWD field office in the region that they are the ones maintaining the warehouse.

Soliman also said that contrary to the TV5’s claim that there was a signage “Task Force

Yolanda-DSWD Hub,” the DSWD team did not see anything that would describe it as such. “Attributing the Caibaan warehouse to the DSWD by showing the signage is creating a wrong public impression and misinformation,” Soliman stressed. She said that DSWD warehouses are located in Barangays Apitong and Abucay in Tacloban City with the Task Force Yolanda-DSWD Hub banner prominently displayed on the façade. In the same compound in Apitong is also the warehouse of the National Food Authority, she said. Don't miss out on the latest news and information.

if the report is true that TV5 erred in their reporting and it is hurting a government agency, is the latter helpless to redress their grievances? if a government agency is powerless to correct the error, eh, ano pa kaya ang isang ordinaryong mamayan na inapi at inabuso? 1

there's no way tv5 would believe DSWD sec. and correct their mistake. simply because it is their staff who gathered the info (whether true or not). malaking kahihiyan yan. besides it is easier to just sit in an air conditioned room and just wait for the feeds at magpalaki ng yagballs. after all, this is the easiest way to raise RATING at the expense of dswd. even errorneouos news. 1

TV5 is the least credible among TV networks in Metro Manila. Its reports are erroneous if not inspired by financial interests. From its top echelon to its staff below, they are shenanigans. • Share ›

If the TV5 report is really wrong as the DSWD said, it is irresponsible reporting by TV5 network or it is intentional as maybe they have something against the DWSD. 6

What's this? PDI ran out of crap to hit the President with, such that they are now stooping so low to borrow and report the crap that TV5 already reported? Don't they have half the decency to at least verify what TV5 reported instead of simply rehashing the crap?

If that was me as head of this agency, with me being supported by the president, this network will not be able to broadcast on air until it air it's apology to the department and people brought down to the gutter. It is such an irresponsible piece of news reporting and should be more responsible in what comes out of their network. 13

At least, give credit to whom it is due. PDI was successful creating an intrigue based on someone else's crap report. Oras na lumabas ang katotohanan, PDI will simply say that this is not their report but rather a report of someone else (TV5)....in the meantime, they were successful in stoking the flames of hatred of the anti-pnoy scumbags 6

TV 5 News is not humble enough to correct its mistake? They have been disproven not only by DSWD but by UNICEF as well, so why the stubbornness in correcting its report? What is their basis? Let us not forget this one erroneous report by TV 5. 11

TV 5 the DSWD Secretary Dinky Soliman is right that the warehouse is managed by UNICEF and WFP. The agency do not have any warehouse in Tacloban dahil nakikisakay lang sila sa mga foreign relief agencies. The signage “Task Force Yolanda-DSWD Hub” display that clearly na nakisawsaw lang si Dinky noong panahon nang relief operation. She is there but for photo ops and media coverage only. The volunteers and not the her agency were doing all the operation and pa ikot-ikot ito as if doing something for the government. The reason why maraming nagutom sa Tacloban then dahil walang naibigay na tulong ang gobyerno and it took the foreign agencies to do the relief operation by putting up makeshift warehouses. Magulo nga ang warehouses TV 5 but it save a lot of people. Dinky is now disclaiming anything about it dahil makasisira ito sa popularity ni PNoy at Mar. 4
